What is the Citizenship Amendment Bill or CAB ?
The Citizenship Amendment Bill states that all Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, citizens of Persian religion who came from India, including Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan, will be given citizenship. The bill passed in Parliament would change the Citizenship Act 1955.
How easy will it be to get Indian citizenship?

Ever since the passing of the Citizenship Amendment Bill in Parliament, there have been constant protests in the north-eastern states.
Internet services have been shut down in four districts of Assam today and army personnel have been deployed in four places. Thousands of people are protesting against the bill on the streets of the North East. People violated curfew in Guwahati on Thursday. Earlier, there were reports of police firing in the suburbs of Guwahati.

Violent protests are affecting traffic in Assam and Tripura against the Citizenship Amendment Bill. Railways have stopped all passenger trains from Assam and Tripura, and long distance trains are stopped in Guwahati. Just because the airline IndiGo has canceled all flights to and from Dibrugarh.

People protested against the Citizenship Amendment Bill in Assam Thursday morning, violating curfew.
